It was a foggy morning — I decided to do the cemetery loop and once there — to sit — it took a long time to find a bench not overly exposed or near the ongoing maintenance activity — you’d think I would be bored going to the local private park for the dead — I’m not — every time something new
The other day — was the first time I grasped what a better marker this was — an elegant summary of what happens to us — when we return
Better yet — a spider web
During the Sky Meditation course — as an example of prana (life force) we were asked which had more prana a squash or a mushroom? I disagreed with the claim the squash had more lifeforce because of its longevity
Beyond (HERE)a possibility of flashing
After all when the pumpkin dies — its body will be consumed by fungus
We understand — Don’t we? What the intention was —for me — as long as we limit the lifeforce to our singular and temporary body — we are unable to grasp the sheer magnitude and mystery of Life
A web is even better than the expanding sphere as a marker for what we become before and after — as I know from trying to remove the arachnids from our boat — they always come back
Although — Arachne — the 13th sign of the Zodiac is a modern fiction — the lunar calendrical aspect — as well as a sign that sits mid-influence — is a great metaphor
In the African tradition — there is a similar — No -trance — Trance — as part of an iniation ceremony one becomes possessed by ‘all’ the spirits — arriving at the place in between — the No-trance — trance
By the time I was done sitting on the Parson’s bench — the fog had burned away — all the webs stood bright and naked — exhibiting generation upon generation of life force
No matter what befalls them today — there will be new webs tomorrow and long after
Lovely. A nice meditation... and great song to go with.
