The poem I’m working on will evolve but here’s the first pass:

The Overview Effect

Think we fell in love
because we argued 
passionately without 
rancor, it would br- 
eak us, we wanted 
to hold still and re-
main, but it doesn't

The same year the
USA openly declares
war on rival busin-
esses, she was
born, gestating when
the planes hit the 
towers, like the
apt tarot card
bodies fell like

Thus far in her life-
line, the snow has
pulled back, the worl-
d for the privileged
has become hand-held
everything connected
the orbital effect as if
we were a vast, singular 
eye, a panoptican a

REMAIN CENTRAL

We were in California
at the time, and she 
hurried off with our 
daughter to Maine as
soon as the divorce
was finalized, we gave

from up here, it was 
clear it would be better
for everyone concerned

The thin line between
the immense dark and
the bubble of our oxy-
gen admixture continues
to get thinner, the eyes
at the end of our limbs
or as Yunyan said it
“All over the body are 
hands and eyes”

Voyager 1 is still transmit-
ting, the speck Voyager’s eye 
sees, as it transits through
the vast vast foyer of this
humble home, among the 
trillions of homes laid out 
along spiraled interstellar
roads are us
