I don’t know what we did a year ago — apparently — I spun a cup I painted around and around — What I ate what I read — what we did is lost in the sweep of history When I was 4 or 5 — my favorite story was The Scarlet Pimpernel — I watched SP on a black and white TV — the only one my family had — my parents kept in their bedroom — Years later I realized I had been cheering for the aristocracy — The whole let them eat cake crowd — the one’s ensuring Joyce’s nightmare of history — I suppose I shouldn’t feel bad — I didn’t know any better — some still cheer them on I do remember the Fishing Trip my brother and I took just before the Gratitude feast — caught cod and received fresh trapped crabs — The meal was memorable as well — back in 2013 Things were different back then — ravens would transmogrify — two would become one — and we would spend the evenings using birdseed and entrails to try and coax them into separating again Do you remember this? You will now — even though it happened only a few seconds ago
That’s not how we wake up — you might say — Can you think of something better? Enjoy the holiday, if you celebrate, under which ever name you call it, and for those of you in the UK — Since we celebrated with Tracy’s daughter yesterday — I made Bubble & Squeek for breakfast yesterday. So when I ask y’all next year — you will know what to reference.

I would happily accept a public holiday dedicated to Bubble & Squeak here in the UK.
