“Due to the urgency of my situation” — she knew it was a con — struct — attempting to highlight modernity’s reliance on the con game as the only acceptable game

For some — Dr. Con is the only name they know me by — it is a shortening of Doc Concrescence — an obscure 20th-century novel never written — a failed nutraceutical company — and a 21st-century “Kava — Tea and Elixir Bar”
