My wife pointed out yesterday there was no like button in the newsletter
I can feel myself fading
increasingly part of the background — footnotes in someone else’s story

Footnotes in someone else’s story

This time of year — many of us become thin
Wishing we could install a like button in the Great Absence where we were told a soul should be
Loneliness so great it cried happiness? WTF? Who would choose to write those words?
Ah yes — I’ve been here before — it’s good I’ve lost some of the ornamental flourishes
The bones remain good

Well, y’all today’s mood is ‘pensive.’ How’s it going for you?

I assumed the absence of a like button was a deliberate choice? It's still not back in the email newsletter today.

We are perhaps the most alive when we draw our first breath, and fade slowly after that.
