2007 was 16 years ago
and we were initiated 29 years
past by the time you read this

, with

all the unnecessary words 
many who
were there 
are now dead
can think of 9
without effort

with effort
so many others
who have not seen today
who have not met you

Sure, maybe, it

feels lonely

the crowded dreams of your past
remind us to be hopeful for those 
you have been and might yet be

again and again.

Our thoughts are too loud — with all the scares as of late — the hyperfocus becomes more — a broken autofocus

And all morning
we have been wondering what the rest
of the cutoff title says: We Speak Mind 
To Mind Not Subject to Subject, or
Subject To Subject, or Habit To Habit?

In its entirety, examining the eddies
in the stream, the curlicues within
the flow of the flow, the proper ripple
seems: You Speak Mind To Mind Not
Habit To Habit and while this is true

not that they need defending, but
since we all are the monster now

there is nothing worse for society
than the Sobriety Addicts, who devote
themselves to particular ways of thinking
denying they are monster, kayfabing
doctor, whose fault lies 
not in the fear of death
rather the bad habits
of others.

Discovered a ritual recently of reading Susan Cooper’s Dark Is Rising Series every Solstice — what a wonderful thing to do — loved it as a child — and restarting the task as an audiobook walk and listen series this year
