The marvelous Dave Cowen of Shuffle synchronicities mentioned our cohort in his latest substack:
Today’s subtitle, always late to the party, was inspired by his mention, specifically, “which is perhaps the most Tumblr thing on Substack.” I never had a Tumblr account, but I agree. I’ve been thinking lately, about how I seem to get involved with particular forms of digital media — after they are no longer relevant. Which, presupposes a type of digital progress, a directionality to things, a myth I no longer fully believe in. One of the other substacks I read on and off is Garbage Day — highly recommended as a rosetta stone for Digital Culture. Ryan’s descriptions of Tumblr convinced me gate(less) could have / should have (?) been there.
In the past, if I was feeling I was going to be late to the party, I would gather the cohort and we would bring the party.
