The memorial for Alfred and his wife is magnificent, if a bit macabre. Strange as it might seem it makes more sense than the padlocks... especially the combination ones. Are those for the couples who might not make it (who does??) and would like to retrive the lock. An option not open to their felloes who threw the keys a/w\a/y
