As you know — around here — we’re not fans of the Hallmark Holiday — we’re far too romantic
I wanted my cards to be handmade — and for the emotion called love to overwrite everything
‘til death do us part — always seemed like a convenient fiction — someone else’s story — serving someone else’s needs
Once you expand your definition of what death is — it makes far more sense — since I’ve been lucky enough to fall ‘ head over’ multiple times in my life — and participated in the opposite hellscape — I can say — those mes then no longer exist — or live in the common tongue

When we returned to the Jamaican resort — and said how wonderful it was to read with the students — living in poverty a few miles from the endless food and drinks of the American Green Zone — They asked us “Why would you do that?”
