maybe, you never experienced it
the standing in the second floor
flat, exercising your right to control
your cognition, your nonviolent
pursuit of liberty, the sun having
set, pacing, looking out the window
only to see the same empty sidewalk
beneath the yellowed street lights
(later, Drug on couch, taking their
sweet time, says, your roving eyes
are worse than Didi, Gogo and
Mr. Albert, combined, you don’t find it
funny
even after all these years)
best as a community game, the righteous
and the holy, gearing up for a night
of raucous communion, depending
on the religion Drug is evangelizing
the night might include:
dancing, chanting, music, poetry
praying, fucking or sitting
just sitting
all Drug dealers are late
never has one been
early, unless you become one
yourself, and then, although you
are now the author of the evening
the corrector of chemical
imbalances
you will have a different kind
of waiting, a waiting to be paid
a waiting for the knock on the
door by gun/welded company-men
with their charges of human with-
out
licence, you become and
are Drug, going back and forth
forever, a servant to
HIGHER POWER
there is much to learn
from this, for the life long
practitioner, waiting will produce
marvellous, inexplicable, unexplainable
results, being born is the most
hazardous activity, most of us
will face, when Drug comes
they do not arrive to an empty house or
a biology unreceptive to their message
their connection
we already have the experience
hardwired, a kinetic potentiality
no, Body arrives built to communicate
with Drug! Body mocks the line
between exogenous
and endogenous, a clear
non-dual scripture, Drug is never
a stranger, Drug
IS IN YOU
sometimes, we need a bit of a reminder
and sometimes, after the initial
love, we become codependent
unnecessarily abusive, sometimes
Body has to learn to ghost Drug
and to STOP answering the door
or not, you do you, as long as you
remember, Drug and you, would
never have worked, if they hadn’t
been you (in disguise) pretending
to be outside.
