For what its worth — the buoy — I think — looked like this one — obscured by 8’ to 10’ waves — I had the helm and the rest of the crew was manning the sales — I mentioned how close we were — but the instructor seemed not to be overly concerned — having the helm I should have spoken up
Obviously — I have no pictures of 10’ waves — we were busy — later when we looked at the Navionics trip map — I said — You’re being negative when you say we were a minute from disaster — I’d prefer if we said 60 seconds
After it calmed down
we could feel the frisson
That time — the dock went underwater — and getting off the boat was a 5’ groin stretch
No matter how you plot it — eventually — it catches up
