Went to the farmers market and got some currants — they got squished beneath the golden beets and their green/green tuffs — despite 2 people in as many minutes thinking they were tiny grapes — when I ate one I was 9 years old — not yet ready for the bitter but understood the promise
The Teacher — Brought up Kingfish in his teisho and I later mentioned him to a few friends — I’m happy the new generation understands the promise of the bitter and the sweet — But he’s been here before
I worry too much our culture has been drowned in synthetic sugar and salt — whole cultures of bitter — lost — tastes once celebrated — now going extinct
I shouldn’t worry — people understand a great deal more than the corporate eye pretends they do — I just get lost easily
We all understand more than we think we do AND get lost easily — that’s my experience at least

Your experience may differ

Much love,

Happy 23rd y’all
